The characteristics of Naoussa wine remain unaltered. The dry, red wine which is produced from grapes of the xinomavro variety -which are cultivated in the specific vinery zone- is characterized as a typical Very High Quality Naoussa Origin Labelled wine (VQPRD) and bears the special red control tape of the Ministry of Agriculture on its bottle. This wine has a bright red colour, is rich in texture, and -like all good quality wines- with aging develops aromas, softens its flavour and acquires the characteristics of a really great wine. It is a classic Vin de Garde that lends itself to aging.
"Naoussa" is ideal for any occasion - from an everyday meal to a luxurious reception. It is served at 15-16°C, after previously having carefully opened the bottle and letting it stand for a few hours in an upright position for the natural sediment which probably has formed due to the aging process to settle. "Naoussa" is an ideal companion for meals with meat and especially game, and complements a cheese variety platter wonderfully.
