Naoussa city park
Since it is located in a natural balcony and has an immense view to the plain of Macedonia, constitutes today one of the most beautiful and representative parks of Greece. The park is completed today and covers an extent of approximately 30 acres. It presents an exceptional interest regarding the aesthetics, functionalism and variety of vegetation along with the variety of animals that live freely in the park such as peacocks, ducks, swans, pigeons, squirrels, fishes and various other species of birds. The flower garden is the part of the park that fascinates even the most assuming visitor because of its incomparable beauty of flowers and feast of colours. There are organised flower-beds that entertain annual species of flowers which are rotated each season. Thus tulips, hyacinths, violas, pot marigolds, gloxinia e.t. dominate in spring while petunias, zinnias, scarlet sages, marigolds, silk flowers, celosias, geraniums, ageratums and other species that change every year can be admired in summertime. A traditional fountain stands in the centre of the flower garden. A special manufacture with peculiar form which is surrounded from cobbled road. The lake covers about 1,5 acres and entertains fishes that are nourished daily by young visitors of the park who share their snacks. Its structure is free and contains two traditional wooden bridges that connect the islet with the rest park. In the lake visitors will also meet the multicoloured ducks and the princely styled swan as well. The rocks in the banks create special places for the aquatic vegetation, composing unique combinations. The taps that exist in various places constitute points of thirst alleviation and add their own tone by their characteristic different architecture. The Municipal Park of Naoussa presents huge interest since it allocates elements that without great material value, acquire immense aesthetic and functional value by the way they are used.
