Wine and vine museum of Naoussa
During their age long collaboration the Municipal Cultural Organism of Naoussa and the Union of Wine producers of Vineyards in Macedonia diagnosed the need of founding a central museum for the important wine productive region of Naoussa. The museum of Vine and Wine in Naoussa presents the history of viniculture and wine production in the region of Naoussa from the 17th century to our days. The museum aims to present the importance of viniculture and winery in Naoussa, its development through time and the smooth transition from traditional to modern forms. The museum has an educational role. It is addressed to all people who are interested in the wine and especially in the wine of Naoussa. The items that are exposed are all old objects of the viniculture and wine production from the region of Naoussa. The exhibition is completed with the presentation of the modern and organised wine factories of the region, providing the visitor with an explicit picture of the importance of modern wine activity in Naoussa. The museum is addressed to the Municipal Cultural Organism of Naoussa and is accommodated in the ground floor of the traditional building Ioannis Boutaris which was the first organised wine factory in Naoussa (1908). It was financed by the Community Initiative Leader II, the Municipal Cultural Organism of Naoussa and the Institution of Stelios and Fani Boutari
