Naoussa's Holocaust events
The anniversary of Naoussa's destruction, the slaughter of local inhabitants and the women's sacrifice in April 1822 are celebrated on the low Sunday (Sunday of Thomas). Naoussa was characterized as "Heroic City" by the 3/9/1955 Decree because of its fights and sacrifices in the national liberating war against Turkish in 1822.
