Local Community Rhodochori

Once a royal estate also known as "Mega Rema", it was ceded in 1923 for the settlement of Pontic refugees. At a distance of 12 km. from Naoussa it has an altitude of 540 m. A centre for the production of high quality cherries and apples (integrated cultivation certified products), it hosts the legendary Agios Georgios Peristeriotas Monastery, which is a country-wide place of pilgrimage similar to that of Panagia Soumela at Kastania on Mount Vermio. Located 12 km. from Tria - Pente Pigadia Ski Resort, it has about 600 residents.
