Local Community Giannakochori

An older Vermio settlement at a distance of 6 km. northwest of Naoussa and at an altitude of 290 m., where, after 1922, Black Sea (Pontic) refugees settled. Well-known for its select cherries, famous organic vineyards and the wineries of the "Kyr Gianni" (Boutari), "Kelesidis" and other estates as well as for its taverns with their special delicacies and stills (rakokazana). It has about 400 residents.
