Municipal Athletic Centre in Naoussa

The Athletic Centre aims at the growth and support of the massive, amateur, trade and school sports of all levels.

The championships of football, basketball, volleyball and handball of the Local Athletic Associations along with all the School Championships are realized at the installations of the Municipal Athletic Centre of Naoussa. Also the programs of massive sports are materialized at the Athletic Centre under the responsibility of the Public Utility Municipal Cultural Organism of Naoussa.

The Municipal Athletic Centre in collaboration of with the Tennis Club of Naoussa and the Public Entity's expenses organizes various CAMP TENNIS in the tennis court of Agios Nikolaos. Various sport events are also realized such as the event related to basketball which was realized with the initiative of the Athletic Center's Administration and prologized by the Chairman of European Department of FIBA Mr. Vasilakopoulos and the Undersecretary of Culture Mr. Ioannidis.

The M.A.C. implements various infrastructure projects aiming at the appointment of the wider region of Naoussa as a modern Athletic Centre. More specifically the following projects have been advanced:

• 1. Installation of an irrigation network in the football field of Agios Nikolaos.
• 2. Installation of an irrigation network in the football field of the M.A. of Giannakochori.
• 3. Maintenance and repair of the lockers room at the football field of M.A. of Giannakochori
• 4. Renovation of the lockers room of the Indoor Gym.
• 5. Electric Lighting of the Municipal Stadium of Naoussa.
• 6. Reconstruction of the turf in the Municipal Stadium of Naoussa.

In addition, the Municipality of Naoussa was financed by the Special Local Self-Government Program of the General Secretariat of Sports in order to construct new and modern tiers in the Stadium of Naoussa and manufacture a synthetic carpet (TARTAN) in the arena of the Stadium which constituted a dream of many generations of athletes and trainers.

Finally, the Municipality of Naoussa materializes an enormous athletic project in the region of Agios Nikolaos which is an Olympic Dimensions' Swimming Pool. Although local people have been waiting many decades, this project is realized today and will complete the athletic installation of the region.

The Board of Directors is the supreme membership of this Public Entity which mainly modulates the strategy and policy and supervises and inspects the management of its finance. According to the Municipal Code, the Board of Directors is constituted by 11 members who are appointed by the Municipal Council and the Municipal Adviser Mr. Malakis Ioannis has been defined as the Chairman.
