Naoussa's Mayor

On the 9^th of October 1959 Tasos Karabatzos was given birth in Naoussa.  His father, Kostas, was a farmer and so was his mother, Eudoxia the gender Anastasios Kapsaliaris. In 1971 he graduated from the primary school in "Galakeia" whereas in 1977 he graduated from the "Lappeio High school" and studied in the School of Accountants.

In 1978 Tasos Karabatzos registered in the Faculty of Law at the Dimokriteio University of Thrace. In 1983 he graduated and took the Law degree. He served his military service while simultaneously he trained himself as an attorney at the lawyer's office of George Polakis who was also a former mayor of Naoussa.

In 1985 he registered in the Lawyer's Association of Veria and practiced the law as a liberal professional in Naoussa. Today he is an attorney at Law at Court of Appeal. He works on public issues around 18 years and has been member of administrations and associations in Naoussa.

While Mr Nasiokas Ektoras was the Prefect, Tasos Karabatzos was elected by the Municipal Advisers of all the province of Naoussa just like the election system specified, as a Prefectural Adviser in 1992. The same period he participated in the Regional Council of Central Macedonia as a representative of Prefecture Imathia.

With the enactment of 2^nd degree of self-government in 1994 he was elected Prefectural Adviser and during the biennium 1995-96 he was the Vice-president of the Prefectoral Council of Imathia.

At two years 1997-98 he was regular member of Committee of Prefectoral Council, while at all his military service he was also member of Prefectoral Council of Public Work.

During the period 1993-95 he was a member of Naoussa's hospital Board of Directors.

Tasos Karabatsos is married to Xrusoula Tasiona and have two children, Konstantinos and Nikolas.

The year 2003 constituted the starting line of a political change in the Administration of the Municipality, since the overwhelming majority of Naoussa's citizens voted for the political party of "Municipal Renewal" and elected Anastasios Karabatzos as a Mayor in the elections of 2002. In collaboration with the citizens, the Municipal Advisers, the institutions and associations of the city and the institutional factors of the Prefecture, Tasos Karabatzos fought for the public, his homeland, Naoussa of the 21^st century, a human, beautiful, modern and developed city.

After the renewal of our townees confidence and the unusual for the town percentage of 51%, the renewed team of the "Municipal Renewal" proceeds today with planning, new people and modern ideas of evident political proposal, strategy of growth and concrete objectives in order to complete the program.
