Cultural and Social Equipment
The presence of cultural equipment is very important. The Cultural Centre and its two big theatres (wintry-summery) along with the "Estia Mouson" and its musical faculties of Municipal Conservatoire and the faculty of ballet organize the rich cultural life of Naoussa. The specialized and experienced executives of the Municipal Cultural Organization of Naoussa (called D.I.P.O.N) support the culture and in collaboration with the cultural associations of city organize appreciable events all over the year. It also allocates a Library with 20,000 volumes, departments of Theatre and Cinema, Museum of Wine and Vine and Laboratories of Figurative Arts. The Historical and Folklore Museum - Museum of Macedonian Fight is accommodated in a restored traditional building and allocates important collections from the local folklore tradition and the period of Macedonian Fight. The various cultural associations of Naoussa study, maintain and promote with religious devotion the tradition of the place, which even today constitutes an important element of inhabitant's life. The famous Carnival of the city, with "Boules" as the leading event, that its roots are lost in the deep antiquity and in Dionysian practice, always maintains the old ritual and each year spreads about shivers of emotion in old but also in young people who make it their own affair.
